Asia Dengue Voice and Action (ADVA) began as a scientific working group with the aim of translating vaccine science into actionable strategies for key decision makers, healthcare settings and the community. It now champions a 'multidimensional approach' recognising that 'defeating dengue requires more than medical solutions - it demands environmental stewardship, policy innovation, and community empowerment.'
Junior Achievement Singapore (JA) is part of Junior Achievement worldwide, 'one of the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy.' Junior Achievement worldwide was nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.
The challenge encouraged students to develop creative ideas to raise awareness about dengue prevention and inspire communities to act. This year’s theme, “Innovate. Influence. Eliminate Dengue,” focused on communication, teamwork and creative problem-solving, emphasising short form storytelling, video and social media skills to drive change and action in the community.
At the Singapore Finals, Team Buzzkill represented Lotus Bridge International Academy and impressed the judges with their confident and engaging presentation.
They presented their idea of AuraBand, a smart wristband connected to a mobile app called BuzzKill. They explained how the wristband could alert users when they enter dengue hotspot areas and allow them to apply mosquito repellent when needed. The app would also help users check dengue-risk areas and report places with stagnant water. The aim of their project was to make dengue prevention easier in everyday life.

Team Vector Zero looked at how climate change affects the spread of dengue. They explained how rising temperatures and changes in rainfall can increase mosquito breeding. They also covered Wolbachia mosquitoes and their role in controlling dengue. Their idea was to create short awareness videos for young people on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, to help them understand dengue and how to prevent it.
The Swat Sisters focused on how everyone can help prevent dengue through simple actions. Their campaign was called "Spot it! Flip it! Dry it!" They encouraged people to look for stagnant water, clear it and share short videos to encourage others to do the same. Their main message was that even small actions by individuals can make a difference in preventing dengue.
