Interactors, Students and Rotarians Bowl for Rotary's 'End Polio Now' Initiative at Tampines SAFRA

The Interact Club of Lotus Bridge International Academy, which was installed on 4th Oct 2025 (PS: The club has been sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kampong Gelam), has been busy this year and one of the events they were heavily involved in organising and leading was the Bowl to End Polio event at the Tampines SAFRA Super Bowl on the 25th of April 2026.
The event was led by the Lotus Bridge International Academy Interact Club with support from the Rotary Club of Kampong Gelam. The Interactors, Lotus Bridge International Academy and the Rotary Club of Kampong Gelam were all honoured to have District Governor Dr Shahul Hameed present as the Guest-of-Honour.

The event was created to raise awareness about polio and support global efforts to eradicate the disease, with our students working on and planning the event for months alongside their regular school activities and studies.
The Rotary Club of Kampong Gelam and the Rotary Club of Marina City participated in the event alongside our Year 9 to Year 12 students and Lotus Bridge staff.

We were delighted that one of our teams (Team 7) won the competition and received the Dr Shahul Hameed Challenge Trophy. The members were Das Joy Kumar, Tamim Imran Ahmed, Kalieswaran Ravichandran, Abdul Aseem Aneef Aslan, led by Melojean Baltero.

As an added bonus, the project was recognised at the Rotary International District 3310 District Conference (DISCON 2026), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in May, where our Interactors received a Merit Award for their efforts and contribution to the initiative.
The event encouraged our students to learn about polio and the global efforts to eradicate it, participate in community service, work as a team and learn and build on their organisational skills in putting together this event for an important global cause.
We are very proud of our Interactors for organising the event, and all in the team at the Academy, and the Rotary Club of Kampong Gelam for their assistance.
A huge thank you as well to everyone who participated and turned up to bowl for the 'End Polio Now' initiative.
Congratulations to the team and the Rotary Club of Kampong Gelam for a wonderful, meaningful and fun event for a good cause!
