We enjoyed running our December Enrichment programme for students. Following on from the Calligraphy and Brush painting classes, we ran three more classes.
Cooking without Fire
Our second offering was Cooking without Fire on 14th and 15th of December. This was such a success, with our students learning to make sandwiches, mug cakes, chocolate shakes and oreo shakes. While they learned good skills in making healthy sandwiches, from the photos, you can see the indulgent shakes and cakes were a hit. Perfect treats for the holidays (but remember to eat them in moderation kids).
Creative Art
Our next programme was Creative Art. On 16 and 17 December, our students decorated flower pots and made felt flowers to fill their creative pots. They also decorated their own diaries and notebooks with the embellishments provided.
We're sure they have happier workspaces as a result of their creativity.
S.T.E.M. Augmented Reality
Last, but definitely not least, we ran a S.T.E.M. Augmented Reality programme on 21st and 22nd of December which saw the students create and interact virtually with animals in the setting of our school.
Augmented Reality (AR) involves using technology (phones, and other devices) to overlay visual, auditory, or other sensory information onto the world in order to enhance a person's experience of it.
Our students had a lot of fun with the programme and were very creative with their use of animals overlayed onto our school's backdrops, interacting with these AR creatures and taking fun photos.
It is not everyday we have sharks in our office, but maybe we'll be seeing more wild animals in our school now with the students' enthusiasm for this creative new way of interacting with their surroundings.
We hope they enjoyed learning new skills through these classes, had fun and wonderful holidays both in and out of these sessions.
We're glad to have them all back now that term has started.
